Book Storage

About 12 months ago I noticed that my bookselves at home were nearing totally FULL. The books were over flowing onto stacks on the top and on the floor and it was beginning to look very messy.
At this point I stopped buying books. No point buying books if you cant read them and if you cant store them.
I knew I needed new shelving but couldn't get motivated to actually come up with a design for them. Finaly about 4 weeks ago I worked out the design I thought could work.
There's a company in Bayswater, Allboard Distributers, who will cut the timber to your order, including drilling the holes for the shelf brackets and also putting edge stripping on the timber. I sent my design along to these guys and a couple of days later they called to tell me my order was ready. Because the wood had been precision cut the whole thing went together in next to no time at all. (Okay, I made a few blunders with regards to dimensions and nailing the back board, but that was sorted out. you cant see the nail holes that came though. Pity they were there at all.. but. the crackes are covered by books)
So, 2 bookshelf units, side by side in my study, $640 later (they would have been $600 for two but I had to get some new wood for the backboard. I ordered it with a narrow backboard) and I now have these....
New Bookselves
Thats Nomminaly 21 meteres of shelving. Although its a little less at the moment because I haven't got all the BOOK books in the most efficient location. Thats up from 11 meters that the old shelving provided.
The old shelving has now been relegated to the back room of my house for storage of the odds and sods.
