Would *ouch* of PAIN *ouch*
Mar. 8th, 2004 04:29 pmHad a really great sleep last night. Well better than usual and the dreams wernt the worst so I was actually feeling quite awake and alright this morning.
I decided to go for a cycle. I havent been for a while and I decided that I should get back on the bike and start getting fit again or at least not getting any LESS fit.
The last few times I've been for a ride I went out the gardeners creek bike path and through the golf course past holmsglen and out along the train line. Its not a bad ride but its boreing if oyou always do it. I decided to cycle up St Kilda foreshore. Start at the end of North Road and cycle up to Station / Princess Pier and back again. Its not a bad ride. Generally you can go quite fast and nobody gets in the way.
NOT
I learnt a few things. 1) Theres nice people around still 2) theres compleate JERKS around 3) Bike Helmets are really good.
I started at North Road and cycled up the bikes only path. I was averagiung about 12kmshr so I wasnt going very fast at all. Just fast enough to loosen up. I got all the way to Luna Park when a stupid little brat who was unsupervised decided she would cycle accross my lane. THere pretty much wasnt anything I could do. There was the Chain seperator to my left and her bike to the right.
I planted the anchors and plowed straight into her bike flipping over the top of her and landing on my arm with it wedged into my stomache, winding myself, getting covered in grazes and ending up on the middle of the bikepath unable to breath. I dragged my way to the side of the path and collapsed on the grass.
Some guy who was passing by who was right next to the accident came over and made sure I was alright and didnt have any broken ribs or anything and to him im thankfull.
There were however a couple of Jerks who if I hadnt just maimed myself I would have given a verbal earbashing to.
One guy came up to me and asked if it hurt. When I nodded and said yes lots he said that he hoped it hurt LOTS more becasue I could have killed the girl. The girls mother was understandably defensive of the girl saying she was just 6 and it wasnt her fault..
IM SORRY? you dont teach your children about keeping LEFT then accidents WILL happen.
But to the jerk who said he hoped it hurt. GO TO HELL. I didnt see your helmet! and I was staying cautiously LEFT. I wasnt going any faster or slower than most of the other cyclists. I HOPE you run under a bus or something.
As far as I can tell I wasnt doing anything WRONG. Not to the extent that jerkoff said.
Now: My palms are a mess and are begining to REALLY hurt. It still hurts to breath. Theres no bruising yet on my righthand side but I can feel it and I KNOW its going to hurt for a while.
Helmets save lives. Im not sure if I hit my head on the ground or not. If I did the Helmet absored ALL the impact compleatly because I didnt feel it and I dont have any world of pain in my head, neck or upper chest. My back hurts like hell as well. ANd now my right leg is begining to kill where I dragged all the skin off IT.
OW!!!
