Isn't it funny what you hear.

So I ran into somebody on the train this morning who gave me a little bit amusing news
Apparently somebody I used to know thinks i'm incompetent at my job, and apparently they always have thought that.
Now that I have a new job which deals with Science and Computers apparently I'm DOUBLY incompetent.

Kind of amusing. At least I have a job, and one I enjoy at that. I would like to think that I’m good at what I do. Ahh well, at the end of the day I get paid. If I’m incompetent then I’m good at bluffing and faking it.. so I’m good at something.

Down side of working in a lab

One of the downsides of working in a lab is that every now and then vile unexplainable smells waft through the building. When asked, people shrug and say they cant smell a thing.

Eye Candy and the art of observation

Okee so I confess, I REALLY shouldnt be looking becauswe im probably creeping the poor girl out.

Theres a cute girl who waits at the station and catches the same train home as me every night. I noticed her a few months ago. Very nice dresser fairly attractive. But alas, Tragically I noticed a giant diamond engagement ring on her hand last night on the way home. Oh the shame, the traversty. Mind you, in my eternal shyness I would never have approached her even if I hadnt seen that ring. But thats hardly the point, is it.

Now the question I have to ask myself is this. Is she the reason I havent been cycling to and from work? I mean, im mostly better. im still running out of breath here and there. But im not sick as I was and im not contagious... :) Theres no reason I CANT cycle again.

So what is it about LJ anywyays. I guess its a good way of keeping a diary of sorts. It DOES disturb me that friends end up getting the right to annotate my work with corrections. But I still have the ability to make entries personal if they really ARE personal. But the way I see it. If they are so private that NOBODY can read them then why write them at all.

Theres a voice there somewhere here that I recognise..
