Talking to people

Sometimes I forget how to talk to people.

I don't mean that when I talk to them I'm  rude.   I mean that I forget how to talk to them.     "Brain flat line ....... err....um...."

Usually when I'm stressed, or tired or around people I dont know very well or have much in common with.     Can be a real painin the arse.

You would think it was that easy, wouldnt you.

But its not

It both is and it isn't (with apostrophe and all) - but that would be getting in the deep metaphysical/bullshit field of psychobabble, about which I can confidently wax lyrical due to having absolutely no formal knowledge or verifiable qualifications. It feels like the sort of field where that could be an advantage.

Better than "I don't really know how it works and neither does anyone else, so they're all as much of a quack as I am" that's the secret truth at the bottom of so many areas of human endeavour.

My what big words I'm using.

Yes, depending on the situation it can be, but many of the so called 'confident, outgoing' people can talk, but often its total crap.

Oy, I resemble that remark.

I can completely relate to this, and since having M, it has become a permanant state. Hopefully she will sleep through soon, so I can start having intelligent conversations again about something other than her latest escapades!

I find the most annoying part is the million things I think of to say after the fact when the pressure is off and I have some thinking time!

Maybe cue cards made up before a social event?? :) (I might have to try that!)
