I went to the cricket the other day with a bunch of like minded cricket fans. Decided that the ICC Vs ACC Tsunami Appeal Cricket match was just too good an oportuinity to pass up. Along with 70,101 other likeminded people we headed along with our reserve seats (Q16 Row U(Top Deck Southern Stand)). Got there JUST as the first ball was being bowled and melted into my shaded seat. Turned into a VERY nice day to watch cricket. A lot has been written about the match in the papers. By all accounts it was an INCREDIBLY good match. The ICC (The Rest Of The World) IX were amazing to watch bat. the ACC (The Asian side. Asain Cricket Council) IX Were good as well but they lacked the large number of amazing shots that the ICC IX made.
I HOPE they dont repeat these too often. This match had something Special about it. If theres more than one every few years then the specialness will be diluted to just another match that everybody expect to happen.
Humour:
It was with sadness that I read that Cambell McComas had died of leukaemia the other day. Cambell had a great involvement at Scotch when I was a student there. I remember him giving MANY MANY clear well spoken speaches about life the universe and everything. We would get a speach from him at least once a year. He would have to be one of the better speakers / Debaters that I have had the pleasure in watching. I didnt know him personaly but certainly feel I have been influenced by him. (Saddly not in the speach making, debating or spellling fields)
Aparrently he only found out he was sick 6 weeks ago.
Music:
Hmm.. As new Australian music goes, Isn't Missy Higgens just one of the best new singers you have heard? Shes a REAL muso! From her lyrics you would think she was a LOT older than she really is. HAH! make sure the big music companys keep their grubby hands off her and dont polute her music with top 40 schlock!.
